Number one: I would have to say, keep it fresh. You want to make sure your website is updated every two to three years with your design. That way you are current with all the marketing trends that’s going on.

Number two: I have to say is have no regrets. Make sure that you really research all the trending hashtags and make sure that’s really aligned with your brand messaging. You would hate to post something and find out later that it’s something that doesn’t fit in with your brand’s values, messaging or things of that nature.

And the last I have to say is have fun with it. You know, marketing is all about creativity, showing your personality, really having your audience connect with you as a relationship of a brand.

I’d say my number one digital marketing tip that I’d give is to be consistent. One of the things that I’ve learned with our social media is that we lost an aspect of our consumer base, or I guess prospective consumer base, because we did not actively and consistently engage them on social media. So, actually, while I was here in Houston, we’ve done a photo shoot here to help re-engage our social media and to remain consistent in that we’ve found we get a better response when we’re consistently posting on Facebook and Twitter and Instagram or whatever other social media outlets there are on a daily basis. Your followers want to hear and see from you on a daily basis, so that’s what we’ve found has helped us to grow our brand and grow our presence.

The number one marketing tip that I would share is branding. Branding is hugely, hugely important in your online presence and even as a business, social media, more specifically your content. The content has to be something that grabs your audience, that speaks to your audience, that engages them to get them to act, to get them to purchase or buy your product and services. So, your content has to be relevant content. It has to be engaging content and your strategy of what you are promoting has to match and align with your brand that engages the actual audience that you are looking to attain.

You are your brand, the brand is you so wherever you go, whatever you post, make sure it’s directed back to your business and also remember that wherever you are, you are representing your business. So even though it’s separate, you still are the brand so be confident in what you do and share that with everyone you meet. Make those connections and relationships.
