Smart Insights.com revealed in a recent report that “mobile digital media [Internet usage] in the US is significantly higher at 51% compared to desktop (42%).”

Tip 1: Be Responsive

Ensure the most optimal user experience of your website by choosing a layout and incorporating functionality that adapts to all types of devices—i.e., smartphone, tablet or e-reader. The best such experience results in increased customer reach, revenues and business growth.

Tip 2: Click for Action

The No. 1 “call to action” button that should be on your site is click-to-call. This allows prospective customers to call you from a mobile device with one click, which studies show has increased, according to Ipsos Market Research. This feature adds convenience and saves time for your customers.

Tip 3: Include Visual Content

How many times have you accessed a website via mobile device only to be frustrated by having to scroll endlessly through columns of text? Displaying a video or infographic communicates your messaging to customers in a concise and engaging way, and best of all quickly.

Tip 4: Keep It Simple

Enlarge click buttons and links on your site so mobile users aren’t forced to struggle to interact with your website. Easy-to-navigate and user-friendly sites attract more Web traffic.

Tip 5: Include External Links and Backlinks

Include links readily available as resources to related sites. Links to your social media accounts are also a great way to drive traffic to your site and affiliated business sites.

Bonus Tip: Include a map to your business address via Google Maps. Users can sync the map with the Google Maps application on their devices or with another map application for easy navigation to your location.
